ABOUT THE GAME

Pudding Monsters game overview

Pudding Monsters is a top-down puzzle about combining every pudding on the board. A creature continues sliding in a straight line until it reaches an obstacle, another pudding or the open edge. When two puddings collide they join together, but the combined shape still occupies the squares created by the merge, so its future movement must be planned as one piece. Completing a board means uniting the full group; positioning that final shape across the marked star tiles improves the result. Later stages introduce puddings with different behaviours, including sleeping pieces that need to be struck before they move and pieces that leave a sticky trail. Those additions change which barriers and approach angles are useful rather than simply making the board larger.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Before you start

Expect deliberate, portrait-oriented puzzles rather than a timer-led challenge. Each board is small enough to inspect before moving, but an unprotected edge matters because a pudding that slides off the level forces a reset. The central question is not merely which creatures can merge, but what shape and stopping point that merge creates for the following move.

GETTING STARTED

How to play Pudding Monsters

Inspect the positions of the puddings, barriers and star tiles before making the first slide. Drag a movable pudding in one of the four main directions. It will keep travelling until something stops it; colliding with another pudding joins the two pieces. Continue until every movable creature has become part of the same connected shape.

Work backward from the stars when a level has several possible merge orders. Use fixed objects to stop a piece at the required row or column, and account for any special pudding behaviour before committing. If a piece leaves the open board, reset and change the approach angle rather than repeating the same route.

CONTROLS

Controls and device setup

On desktop, hold the left mouse button and drag in the intended direction to slide a pudding; use normal pointer clicks for menus. On a touch device, swipe the selected pudding. Movement is limited to the four main directions.

Tips for Pudding Monsters

  1. Check the final merged shape against the star layout before deciding which two puddings should meet first.
  2. Treat barriers as stopping tools and preserve the one that gives a later pudding the correct approach line.
  3. Keep every open edge in view because one uncontrolled slide can send a useful piece off the board and force a reset.
